The Chicago Bears have now lost an ugly five straight games, and any pathway to success has been gashed due to the ineptitude of Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy.

It is Thursday, April 27th, 2017. The Chicago Bears have the third overall pick in the NFL draft. General manager Ryan Pace has the opportunity to draft a franchise-changing player for the team, which needs a face. All of sudden, a report comes out that the Bears have traded up with the San Francisco 49ers to move up one spot.

Everybody in the NFL world is confused. Then Roger Goodell comes out onto the stage in Philadelphia. “With the 2nd pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the Chicago Bears select, Mitchell Trubisky.”

Immediately, more confusion arose. Ryan Pace talked about the pick, saying he liked his accuracy.

It has been four seasons, the Bears have had one winning season, and the offense has been horrific in all but one of those four seasons. The defense has been stellar, however.

Ryan Pace has completely rebuilt the defense, there is no denying that. But under Matt Nagy, the Bears offense has been anemic, aside from 2018.

In Nagy’s tenure, the Bears offensive scoring ranks by season:

2018 – 9th

2019 – 29th

2020 (so far) – 31st

Does that leave any hope for this team in the future? Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace have ruined this team with such ineptitude that almost makes Jacksonville’s front office look good.

It is completely rational to say that not a single offensive skill player has developed positively under Matt Nagy. It is arguable to say Allen Robinson or David Montgomery. However, Allen Robinson was already very good when he signed with the Bears in 2018, but he was coming off a torn ACL, which is why the Bears were able to steal him from Jacksonville.

David Montgomery is only in his second season, so it still is difficult to analyze him. But despite the putrid offensive line this season, he has definitely developed a little bit.

People have said all season that Nagy and Pace need to be on the hot seat, and even fired. Now there is no excuse.

This team is lifeless and broken. The defense is stellar, but the offensive ineptitude has destroyed any shot of this team winning anything meaningful. Mitchell Trubisky is not the answer, he is a bust, and there is absolutely nothing that can change the narrative of his tenure with Chicago.

There are fans who would rather watch Marc Trestman’s Bears. Think about that. This current offense is so inept that people would rather watch the worst defense in Bears history because they had a competent offense.

After last night’s absolute atrocity of a performance in Lambeau Field. This team needs change, and now is not too early, they have needed to shake up the structure of the front office almost all season. Ryan Pace, Matt Nagy, and Ted Phillips need to go. Other teams have done the same, and it is past the time for this.

The Chicago Cubs could trade Kris Bryant to any of these five teams this offseason.

The Chicago Cubs know that Kris Bryant is one of their all-time great players. He might not last an entire career there but anyone who was a part of the World Series-winning core is forever a Chicago legend. Bryant was their best player in 2016 and deserves to be remembered that way. Ever since then, things haven’t been quite the same for the team but Bryant takes a bit too much blame for it all.

It isn’t his fault that a lot of what the front office did following the World Series was not smart. He didn’t sign Tyler Chatwood or trade for Jose Quintana. He surely wasn’t as good as his MVP season in 2016 but he has still been good. Since coming to the Cubs, very few players have had a better WAR than Bryant.

There are rumors that the Cubs don’t tender Bryant but the deadline but it seems smarter to do it and try and trade him. There are plenty of teams that could use a player like him in their lineup and he can play many different positions. Whichever team lands him will be getting someone who can help them win and it might even be a bargain price.

The Cubs probably don’t love the idea of trading him within the National League but they might have to. There are a lot of good teams in the NL that might feel they are a Kris Bryant away from competing with the Los Angeles Dodgers. These are the five teams across Major League Baseball that would make sense for Kris Bryant:
