The Chicago Bulls came back from pause as strong as everVincent Pariseon December 20, 2021 at 12:00 pm

The Chicago Bulls were back on Sunday night after a few games were postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak. Their last game came on December 11th when they lost to the Miami Heat which was the second loss in a row for them. It was getting hard to win with some of the key players in the protocol so the pause was necessary.

Sunday’s game was against the Los Angeles Lakers and they were able to win it by a final score of 115-110. They had enough players good to go in this one which allowed them to overcome LeBron James’s squad. James had 31 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 assists but it wasn’t enough against the Bulls who look back and are better than ever.

The Lakers were missing Anthony Davis who is one of the best players in the NBA. LeBron James received decent help from Russell Westbrook, Isaiah Thomas, and Carmelo Anthony who all gave them a chance to win before the Bulls pulled it out in the final minutes of the game.

DeMar DeRozan was sensational at the end of the game as the Bulls needed him to help them hang on. He ended the night leading either team in scoring with 38 points. It was a great game for him as he was relied on to dominate the scoring which is something he is used to.

Without Zach LaVine, the Bulls needed a bit from everyone. Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, and Nikola Vucevic all joined DeRozan with at least 17 points (or more) scored. Each of those guys is much needed in different ways but giving some extra offense was important on Sunday night.

The Chicago Bulls have had some big wins this year and Sunday was no different.

The Lakers haven’t been the team that we fully expected yeat as this loss drops them to 16-15. However, James missed a lot of time to start the season. When he is healthy, they are a legit threat to win the whole thing later in 2022.

As a result, beating them with him in the lineup should make the Chicago Bulls feel good. They are a well-coached team that has amazing players on the court. Hopefully, as they get everybody back and ready to go, they are able to go on another huge run and solidify their playoff seeding as an upper-level team. This Lakers win was big for them at the beginning of that quest.
