Styling with The Heath Dolls “Met Gala Challenge”
Chicago 3 year old Style Stars enter into Vogue Magazine and Billy Porter’s Met Gala Challenge
Anyone that loves fashion knows that the annual Met Gala is Fashions biggest night of the year. Unfortunately due to the Corona virus Pandemic, this year’s Met Gala has been cancelled. The event was scheduled to be held on May 4. To honor the iconic night, Vogue and Billy Porter teamed up on a new Instagram challenge that calls fashion lovers around the world to recreate their favorite met gala looks from previous years. Contestants have an opportunity to win a feature in vogue magazine. Now that might not sound like a be a big deal for some but as for these mini style stars it would be a dream come true!
Take a look below to see how The Heath Dolls transformed into Lupita Niyong’o and Winnie Harlow from their 2019 Met Gala appearance. Don’t worry we’’ll also tell you everything we used to pull off the iconic looks! Hit the Like Button if you think they nailed it and don’t forget to share!
Lupita’s Dress- We created the top by using an old dress that featured similar tulle colors on the back. We wore the dress backwards and added a wire hanger inside to give a butterfly effect on arms. We then added another old dress to create the bottom of the dress.
Lupitas Fan- We wrapped a colorful tutu skirt around an old fan and magic happened.
Lupitas Hair- We teased and lifted the hair to create a full Afro affect. We then pinned up the sides to create structure and added in dads old school pics! #nailedit
Lupitas makeup- We did a heavy pink shadow on the lids and recreated the dark brow lining around the eyes. We finished the Look with a rich dark lipstick.
Winnies Dress- We used a old feather collar/cape to create the top. We then used mommy’s old beaded blazer dress to create a wrap skirt with open split. #Nailedit
Winnies purse- We used a large Christmas ornament and attached belt chain for the strap #nailedit
Winnies Hair- We created a soft blond bang using colored extensions previously worn by mommy. We finished the look with a medium messy bun that was also wrapped in blond extensions to finish the look
Winnies makeup- We mirrored Winnies look by using soft shades of pink eyeshadow. We finished the look with a soft shade of pink lipstick.
We hope you love these recreations as much as we do and if so please share our photos and use hashtag #Metgalachallege Wish us luck and thank you in advance!
