Show Dad Your Love with a Health-Filled Gift on Father’s Day #FathersDay
BY SANDRA GUY
Never in recent history has affordable wellness — whether a cleanser, an anti-bacterial wand or an immune-boosting herb — mattered so intently.
So for Father’s Day on June 21, why not blend in a bit of humor, whimsy or playfulness with today’s serious health concerns?
Here are a few ideas that could please dads ranging from tech geeks to exercise fanatics to outdoor barbeque chefs:
• A wireless phone charger that doubles as a sanitizer. One example is the $99 Lexon Oblio wireless charging station and sanitizer.
• A water bottle that purifies the water inside it. One of the popular brands is Larq.
• A grill set with a sleek design — and perhaps a package of immune-boosting herbs to mix into the recipe.
• A foot massager or massage sandals or slippers.
• Along the same lines, a handheld percussive massage device such as a Theragun to relieve sore muscles.
• An online class in soothing herbs, tonics and natural relaxing recipes, such as hot teas or toddies.
If Dad has time to read, you might want to giftwrap a book or a giftcard to buy titles such as “Pops” by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Chabon, reflecting on fatherhood, or “Look Big” by Rachel Levin — a guide to reacting to 50 animals he may encounter when camping.
Or, in this time of staying indoors and feeling helpless while watching protests of police brutality and institutional racism, these books offer insight: “From Slavery To Freedom: A History of African-Americans” by John Hope Franklin; “The Third Reconstruction: How a Moral Movement Is Overcoming the Politics of Division and Fear” by Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove and William Barber II, and “Between the World and Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates.
Escape or learn from our unprecedented and stressful times? Help Dad do both.
