As websites and electronic commerce are becoming more and more common, business owners and marketing managers are realizing that quality web copy is every bit as important as impressive design. And with the ever-increasing importance of search engine presence, the role of web copy has never been more critical.
But in such a relatively new field, customers are still coming to grips with what they can expect of their website copywriter. The question a lot of people are asking is, How do I know I’ll get what I pay for?
Before engaging a website copywriter for your next project, ask them whether they’re able to provide you with the following ten essentials
1) Fixed Quote
A lot of website copywriters will tell you they only work on an hourly rate. They’ll cite varying requirements, rapidly changing technologies, greater incentive, the risk of customer indecision, and a host of other reasons why they can’t provide a fixed quote. But don’t be fooled. You have a right to know what the job is going to cost you. If a website copywriter won’t give you a fixed quote, think twice
2) Contract of Works to be Completed
Just as important as a fixed quote is a signed contract. It may not be drawn up by a lawyer, but a written and a signed document outlining the works to be carried out, and the cost of those works is essential. If a website copywriter is reluctant to provide a written, itemized quote including an estimated number of words, you have to ask yourself why.
3) Timeframe
Always ask how long your job is going to take. If youíve already had a go at writing your own web copy, you’ll know how time-consuming it is. Never make the mistake of thinking the job will be done in a day. Granted, a professional website copywriter will be very efficient in crafting your copy, but no matter who the writer, a quality product requires time. And on top of writing time, remember that youíll have to review and provide feedback on everything they write. In a lot of cases, itís the review phase that takes the most time, so make sure you try to set some time aside, otherwise youíll find yourself the bottleneck!
4) Plan of Attack
Try to get some ideas from your website copywriter about how they plan to approach your project. Donít be fooled into believing you have to hand over the dollars before they’ll reveal their plan of attack. You have a right to be comfortable with their approach before you engage their services. Will you receive individual drafts of every page or a single draft of the entire site? What format will you receive the finished product in? How many review iterations do they anticipate?
5) Samples
A lot of ambitious web service providers of all types are calling themselves writers these days. They offer copywriting as a specialist service, but donít engage a specialist to complete the work. Always ask to see samples of their previous copy. Read it thoroughly and ask yourself, Does this copy convey benefits? Pretend youíre the intended audience and ask ìDoes this copy answer the questions I need to be answered before I buy?
6) CV
Most of the copywriter’s websites will give you a very high-level overview of their business and the services they offer. Some even offer samples. But very few offer a professional biography of their writers. If you’re not happy relying on their website as your sole source of information, ask for a copy of their CV. The things you’re looking for are a professional history in writing, and preferably some tertiary education in the same.
7) Testimonials
Perhaps the best indication of a website copywriter’s ability is customer satisfaction. Don’t be afraid of asking for customer testimonials. A good website copywriter will be proud of their testimonials so proud, in fact, that they’ll be offering them without you even asking. Look for testimonials from companies you recognize and/or can verify. Anyone can get their great-aunt to write them a testimonial. Some will even write their own. If you really want to be sure, ask for contact details so you can give the customer a call and hear it straight from the horseís mouth.
8) SEO Copy Skills
Approximately 80% of all web traffic comes through search engines, so it’s essential that your website copywriter has proven experience in SEO copy. Ask them their general approach to SEO copy. Do they normally perform the keyword analysis themselves? How do they know when they’ve used enough keywords in enough of the right places? Can they show you a high ranking site they’ve written the copy for? What steps do they take to avoid diluting the effectiveness of your primary keyword phrases? Will their SEO copy change the text links on your pages? (It should!)
9) SEO Copy at No Extra Charge!
Never be fooled into paying more for SEO copy. If you’ve already performed your keyword analysis, and you know where you want your keyword phrases used, writing of the copy should take no longer than usual. I’ll say it again SEO copy is not an extra it’s how web copy should be written! Do not pay extra for it! The only things you should expect to pay extra for are keyword analyses, adding the HTML code for unmarked text links, providing guidance on-site structure, sourcing of inbound links to your site, etc. SEO copy by itself should cost no extra.
10) Writing Experience for Online Media
Writing for an online medium is entirely different from writing for print. Readers have different requirements and objectives, and reading conditions are very different. Make sure your website copywriter knows how to cater to these differences. Ask them to recommend a maximum page length or word count per page. The correct answer should include some comments on the trade-off between the problems of scrolling and the need for a high keyword count for SEO. Ask them whether they prefer long sentences or short (and hope to hear short). Ask them whether they will include lots of text links within the main body of the copy, and if so, will they appear as regular links (colored and underlined), or will they be unmarked.
A professionally written copy can mean the difference between a great looking site and a great looking site THAT EARNS YOU MONEY.
There are very few Hollywood screenwriters who are able to craft perfect, memorable dialogue. Quentin Tarantino would be one, along with The Coen Brothers, but above them stands Aaron Sorkin; who has managed to craft some of the best screenplays over the past 20 years including Charlie Wilson’s War, The Social Network, Moneyball, Steve Jobs, and Molly’s Game. Later this year, he will be releasing his second outing as a director with The Trial of the Chicago 7 set to release in select theaters and Netflix.
In taking on this project, Sorkin has decided to take his style and look at one of the most tumultuous years in American history, 1968. A year that saw the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert Kennedy, the escalating Vietnam War, the ongoing struggle for Civil Rights as well as the rise of the Black Panthers and the FBI and their insidious program for disrupting “political dissidents” called COINTELPRO. Recently, a teaser trailer was released for this ambitious project and while the 97 second trailer does not give us the full picture of what to expect but we can certainly dissect it.
For starters, we see that The Trial of the Chicago 7 boasts an all-star cast that includes Yahya Abdul-Matteen II, Sacha Baron Cohen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Keaton, Eddie Redmayne, Mark Rylance and William Hurt. Sorkin has always had the ability to attract all sorts of stars to his projects including Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jesse Eisenberg, Rooney Mara, Andrew Garfield and Jessica Chastain. While a plethora of stars does not decide a film good or not, it is a good sign that so many prominent, well-known actors have signed on for the film.
Front and center in the trailer is Cohen who will be playing legendary activist Abbie Hoffman who chillingly remarks at the end of the trailer by saying “I’ve never been on trial for my thoughts before.”
In addition, Chicago 7 is set during a time when so many historical threads were intertwined, yet it’s next to impossible to unwind them all. The assassinations of several prominent leaders like Dr. King and Robert Kennedy sparked unrest of had wide-ranging historical repercussions that society is dealing with to this day. Specifically, the murder of Kennedy in 1968, literally minutes after the California Primary, sent the Democratic Party into a tailspin who were forced to find a viable candidate that could compete against the presumptive Republican nominee, Richard Nixon. Next to the political unrest, was the escalation of the Vietnam War and the American public seeing troops come home in body bags. At home, rising unrest and the ongoing struggle for Civil Rights led to the creation of the Black Panther Party founded by Fred Hampton, Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale. Behind the scenes of all of these threads, was the FBI who under the direction of Director J. Edgar Hoover began a targeted disinformation campaign against political groups like the Black Panthers and prominent Civil Rights leaders under a program titled COINTELPRO. The exact details of this program are outside of the scope of this breakdown but let’s just say the FBI was up to some shady practices for a long time for reasons that now seem racist.
All of these threads came together at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago when groups of protesters clashed with members of the Chicago Police Department over the course of seven days which resulted in over 500 people being treated for various injuries. The riots have gone down as one of the darkest chapters of American political history but what happened after the riots is equally as interesting and dark. Several organizers of the protest groups, including Abbie Hoffman and Bobbie Seale, were arrested by police on charges for conspiring to cross state lines to incite a riot. Seven protesters were eventually convicted on charges but these convictions were later overturned in 1972 but the original conviction is now considered one of the greatest miscarriages of justice. The trial will seem to be the subject of Sorkin’s upcoming film with the organization of the protests and the eventual riot potentially being shown via flashback which seems to be the norm of his films including the structure of The Social Network and Molly’s Game.

It’s safe to say that Aaron Sorkin will be pulling out all of his tricks for The Trial of the Chicago 7 including his famous “walk and talk” scenes, using an all-star cast to speak his carefully crafted dialogue and setting his film against the backdrop of one of the worst riots in history will hopefully make for a memorable. Let’s hope that Sorkin doesn’t take certain liberties with the historical record for the sake of telling this story.
The Trial of the Chicago 7 will be available to watch on Netflix beginning October 16th. Stay tuned to UrbanMatter Chicago and UrbanMatter.com for more pop culture and movie preview content from Chris Rupp beginning in October!

I became acquainted with private Chef Wood Porter back in May of this year. At the time I was running my own company, Hub Chicago, and it was shortly following the tragic death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police custody. I put an overture on all social media for any local Black-owned business to reach out to me and I would offer them free advertising on our website and social media in an effort to do my part in supporting Black-owned businesses.
I simply wanted to use my platform to amplify those establishments.

One of those individuals to reach out was a personal Chef in Chicago named Wood Porter and his business: #Woodiscookin Private Chef Co. Through a series of email correspondence, I got to know Wood a bit more and I immediately was inspired through our conversation because in a lot of ways our mentality and outlook towards our passions and work derive from a similar place.
“I attended culinary school in Bronx, NY, with a few internships at some NYC restaurants. Moved back to Chicago, struggled & tried to find a name or path for myself in this competitive industry. I started posting meals and things I cooked on social media such as IG, and the more I posted, the more people started to comment and compliment me on the dishes, and really started to build a small following. Slowly but surely, people wanted to hire me to cook at their homes for dinner parties, brunches, meal preps, etc. I periodically look back at some of the posts, and menus I’ve sent to prospective clients, and I’ve really come a long way. I never really enjoyed working at a restaurant as a line cook because the pay and hours were crappy, and I was following someone else’s recipes. Even though that kind of work taught me a lot of things in regards to the craft, it didn’t offer me the creativity and thinking outside of the box scenarios I desired. So I said to myself, I want to make work as a Private Chef a career, so I started an LLC, and really put my all into it.”

Private Chef Wood has a passion for southern fusion cuisine that stems from his roots. His mom hails from Mississippi and he himself attended undergraduate in Alabama. Southern cooking was always a staple for him growing up and built a foundation for how he started. The fusion comes from the creative itch that’s always lived inside this private Chef in Chicago, as over time he’d begin incorporating other cuisines or put creative twists on his favorite dishes to stand out.
Some of his crowd-pleasers include: Mango Jerk Glazed Bacon, Pan Seared Salmon, Poblano Cilantro Rice, Sea Salt Charred Veggies, w/ Peach Sriracha Glaze, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Jalapeño Honey Waffle w/ a Hot Sauce Maple Butter Syrup, and Cajun NY Strip, Crispy Herb Smashed Potatoes, Spicy Glazed Flash Fried Brussels, Whiskey Butter Sauce.

He signs off with, “I just love cooking great food and having dope energy around me. It really is soulful!”
Now, I’ve of course touched base with private Chef Wood prior to putting this together and he had some pretty exciting news to share with me. Naturally, he opens up citing the difficulties he faced because of the pandemic. But, as mentioned, its personal Chef Wood’s passion and creativity that helped him forward. Because through it, he began thinking of ways to build his business by adapting with the times and championing the things he does well. He tells me:
“Since the pandemic, business definitely slowed down as everyone was trying to figure out how to navigate and move forward. As of the last month, I’ve definitely seen an influx in business inquires as folks are adjusting to our new norm, and finding safer ways to celebrate, host parties/brunches in their home. I’ve been fortunate enough to take advantage of that, and I don’t have a free weekend available for the next two months.
During the slow period because of the pandemic, I definitely tried to find new ways on how to get my food to more people, increase awareness on the cuisine & brand.
Over the next couple of weeks, you’ll see more social media post about weekly pop-ups in the Fulton Market District and Elmhurst of some of my favorite street food to make. Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Butter Pecan Waffles w/ Hot Sauce Maple Syrup, Lump Crab Nachos w/ Roasted Mango Pico, BBQ Aioli, and Bacon, Blackened Salmon Tacos w/ Napa Cabbage, Pineapple Salsa, Chipotle Aioli will be available for pick up purchase soon.”

The focus of this personal chef in Chicago will definitely remain on his in-home private dining experiences, however, this new chapter in #WoodIsCookin is an exciting high to achieve in extremely uncertain times.
I wanted to repurpose this article here at UrbanMatter Chicago because the fight for equality and social justice has not lessened in its intensity or importance. Nor has the importance of supporting our local businesses in the height of COVID-19, and as the hospitality industry gears for a tumultuous winter. Private Chef Wood is not the only business who needs your support, but he is certainly one worthy of it. 5 minutes of conversation will have you sold on that, undeniably.

The ChicagoBulls hire of Billy Donovan has a direct impact on the team and their current rebuild.
The Chicago Bulls rebuild has stalled out over the course of the past couple of seasons.
The Bulls were plagued with a front office that refused to adapt to the modern styles. On top of that, the Bulls were plagued with poor coaching whether it be from Fred Hoiberg, or most recently, Jim Boylen.
However, the Bulls rebuild seemed to be re-ignited when the decision was made this past off-season to completely overturn the front office. Out as decision-makers were John Paxson and Gar Forman and enter Arturas Karnisovas as the new executive vice president of basketball operations for the Bulls. Forman is no longer with the organization while Paxson was moved to more of an advisory role. Karnisovas is the chief decision-maker of all basketball moves for the Bulls and he has new general manager Marc Eversley by his side.
After Karnisovas and Eversley did not immediately fire Boylen as the head coach of the Bulls, criticism quickly drew that the Bulls were still going to be stalled in their rebuild. That changed when Boylen was fired on August 14, the official last day of the NBA Regular Season.
With Boylen no longer in the picture as the team’s head coach, the idea was that the Bulls were going to target a rising assistant head coach as their next head coach. Ime Udoka of the Philadelphia 76ers and Wes Unseld Jr of the Denver Nuggets were among the rising assistants that were believed to be finalists for the Bulls’ head coaching job.
Instead, the Bulls shocked the NBA world on Tuesday when they announced that they hired former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Billy Donovan as their new head coach. Not only did the move confirm a new direction for the Bulls, but also confirmed that this rebuild will be handled exactly how it should be.
It goes without saying that Donovan’s hire will have a direct impact on the Bulls’ rebuild.
The first impact is that Karnisovas’ will not have spending restrictions as he oversees the Bulls’ basketball operations. Meaning, before Boylen was fired, there was speculation that Bulls’ chairman Jerry Reinsdorf may limit the financial resources that are at Karnisovas’ disposal given the current budgetary climate as a result of the pandemic.
However, with the Bulls hiring the most expensive coaching candidate on the Market in Donovan, it signals that Karnisovas will have the financial resources available to him to make any move that he sees fit. Furthermore, Sam Vecenie of The Athletic believes that the Bulls could be among the most active teams in terms of roster moves over the course of the next calendar year.
The second impact, and perhaps most important, is that Donovan’s hire restores credibility in the relationship between the Bulls’ players and their head coach. For the tortured souls that chose to watch the Bulls over the course of the past couple of seasons, it was clear that the Bulls’ roster did not respect Boylen. Look no further than star player Zach LaVine.
Whether it was rolling his eyes towards Boylen during timeouts or openly cursing out the head coach while at the free throw line, LaVine had little respect for his coach. It was clear that if Boylen was not going to be fired, then LaVine would likely be on the trade market. While LaVine may not be a bonafide superstar, it is clear that he could be the second piece in an eventual Big-3 for the Bulls. That would be why LaVine’s endorsement of the Donovan hire on Tuesday was important.
The NBA is a reputation league. It goes without saying that the Bulls’ reputation around league circles was less than desirable. Between LaVine’s frustration with Boylen and how other players across the league viewed Boylen, the Bulls were not a desirable destination for free agents and superstars. But, by landing a respectable and reputable head coach that openly wanted to come to Chicago, the Bulls reputation across the league will change.
Not only is this a new and shining moment for the Bulls’ rebuild, but it marks a new period of time for the Bulls’ organization.
The ChicagoBulls look completely different right now than it did before the pause.
Right before the NBA season came to a pause, things were very annoying from the perspective of Chicago Bulls fans. Then, COVID-19 hit the United States of American and the season came to a sudden pause. The Bulls, at a record of 22-43, ended their year with an abysmal .338 winning percentage. Not only do fans not get to watch their team anymore, but the future is bleak whenever they do return. Most of us knew that if the league came up with a return plan, the Bulls wouldn’t be invited.
Well, not long into their earlier than anticipated offseason, they hired Arturas Karnisovas to be their new executive and vice president of basketball operations. He was coming over from the Denver Nuggets, where he was a major factor in getting them to where they are today. This all came after firing long time general manager Gar Foreman and reassigning John Paxson to a new role. This team needed to change things up badly and this was the first big step.
Not long after that, we were given the treat of “The Last Dance”, a documentary that went over the Michael Jordan era of the Chicago Bulls leading up to their final season of the dynasty. It reminded the world that Chicago is a great basketball town and what the NBA could look like again if the Bulls were ever relevant to that magnitude again.
Later in May, they hired Marc Eversley to be their general manager. It would be the first time that someone other than Forman was their general manager since 2009. It was clear that things were going to be different but there was one major issue still looming over the organization. They went all summer without firing Jim Boylen and he was the only old piece still there. He didn’t do that good of a job at all so everyone wanted to know what the issue with firing him was.
On August 14th, the Bulls finally pulled the trigger and fired Boylen. It was annoying that it took so long but in hindsight, it is probably good that the new regime did their due diligence before making such a big decision. As easy of a decision as it appeared on the surface, it was one that needed to be evaluated from all angles.
After firing Boylen it was now a matter of who would replace him. Many assistants around the league were in rumors to come over to Chicago but then some major news started hitting the basketball world. They hired Billy Donovan to be their new head coach on Tuesday afternoon which was somewhat of a shock to fans across the NBA.
It was a shock because of the fact that he and the Oklahoma City Thunder just mutually parted ways in the last few weeks after being unable to reach a contract extension agreement. He could have had his pick of the litter to coach but he chose the most challenging gig of them all in Chicago. This is a guy who coached the Florida Gators to two national titles in back to back years. He also annually receives coach of the year awards, including winning it in 2020. The Bulls are a better organization for having this guy in town.
Of course, there are issues with the roster that need to be addressed. They need to figure out who is there for the long haul and who will be gone. No matter what the opinions are on that, you have to figure that they will start making moves soon enough. They have a high draft pick as well so the turnaround of the Bulls might (hopefully) be upon us. Since March, this team has put itself in a much better spot and we should all be excited about it.
In Week 3, the ChicagoBears travel to take on a desperate Atlanta Falcons team.
Over the course of the first two weeks, the Chicago Bears have been a lot of things. Some may say they’re lucky. Others say certain aspects of the team are, indeed, improved from a year ago. Then again, a few continue to say they will finish the season with a losing record just as those individuals predicted.
Whatever your opinion on the Bears may be, the fact is, they have a chance to take their record to 3-0 on Sunday when they face off against the Atlanta Falcons. Sure, there are some concerns with this team. But, wins are wins.
So far, the Falcons have been underwhelming. But, it hasn’t been for lack of scoring points. Quarterback Matt Ryan has thrown for 723 yards and six touchdowns in two games as the Falcons’ offense has gotten off to a blistering start.
The Falcons have put up a total of 64 points in their first two games. The problem has been on the defensive side of the ball, as Atlanta has lost both of their games. Week 2 saw the Falcons blow another monstrous lead (an allusion to their monumental Super Bowl collapse) as the Dallas Cowboys came back to shock Atlanta.
Calvin Ridley has stolen the show, scoring four touchdowns in two weeks and becoming Ryan’s go-to guy thus far. In Week 3 versus the Bears, it might be up to Ridley to steal the show once more. Atlanta may be without Julio Jones.
#Falcons WR Julio Jones, who aggravated a hamstring injury Sunday, did not practice today. Something to watch…
If the Chicago Bears are to go 3-0, they’ll have to take advantage with their pass rush.
Not only could the Bears get lucky in not facing Jones, but Atlanta’s starting right tackle Kaleb McGary looks like he will miss the game on Sunday due to an MCL sprain.
If that’s the case, Chicago’s pass rush could have a field day. Khalil Mack has been an absolute dominant force in terms of pressures while Akiem Hicks has two sacks in two games. Not to mention, Robert Quinn had an impressive debut against the Giants in which both turnovers happened due to his getting to the quarterback.
Without Jones, the Bears will focus in on Ridley. But, they should not overlook Russell Gage, who came in as the team’s third wide receiver yet is second to Ridley in targets (21) and receptions (15). The Falcons’ offense hasn’t missed a beat after losing Austin Hooper, as those targets have gone to both Gage and newcomer Hayden Hurst.
If Chicago’s defense gets a backup right tackle and no Jones on Sunday, they may once again hear the word “lucky.” But, in a season filled with so many headlining injuries in just two weeks, that’s going to be the name of the game.
The best teams, at the end of the season, will be the teams who can stay the healthiest and take advantage of others’ misfortunes. While it’s never a positive thing to see players injured, the Bears certainly may have a big advantage on Sunday if Jones and McGary miss.
Big birthday this week. Sheesh, eighty-eight. What’s it like when gravity and your butt are at war and a patch over your right eye is a pending fashion statement?
Have you ever owned an old car? Take care of it and it keeps on going, even as it gradually loses its luster and its get-up-and-go. Get lazy and forego the regular maintenance, however, and the timetable for the junk yard speeds up exponentially.
Not a particularly original analogy, but it fits.
So let’s assess. I take a lot of walks and a lot of Tylenol. I can get up from a chair without falling, climb stairs without tripping, and bend over without getting dizzy. Most of the time. For the occasional lapse when the gyroscope in my brain fails, precaution is in place with a handrail alongside the stairs and a safety bar on the tub.
Similar ‘still-can-do-but-not-like-I-used-to’ applies to catching a ball, sex, jogging, drinking Dewar’s with soda, dancing, partying in general, stowing luggage in the overhead, body surfing, pulling a wagon, riding a bike, running for the Metro train, eating spicy foods and you get the drift.
But ‘still-do-and-better-than-ever’ shares equal time! Being an elder has its own joys. All that is required is continued enthusiasm for life and engaging each and every day with gratitude: for being healthy; for a loving spouse and family; for simply being alive, conscious of the miracle!
I think of my Thursday posts as ‘dispatches from the front.’ In the battle against aging I’m a soldier on patrol, ahead of the troops, sending information to the army behind me as to what to expect as they advance against the enemy. Here are some of my communiques, reports of my combat with time as the candles on the cake became a strobe light!
Prepare for a fierce battle with recrimination about the past. It will take some discipline but when you finally leave behind the lingering feelings of shame and regret over mistakes made decades ago, you’ll feel so much lighter. You’ll come to recognize that Self-love is about accepting and forgiving, not being perfect. You’ll be free to be who you are, living life in the present moment (there is no other moment!)
The terrain ahead can be rocky without a moral compass. Integrity is an indispensable quality for creating trust and if you want love in your life, being trustworthy is elemental.
In the march against time, recognize the folly of trying to “fix” someone else’s life, even the ones you love dearly. Your life will become unmanageable if you think you have that power. You don’t, period. For your own sanity and sense of self-worth, recognize that how others behave is not a reflection on you. You’ll dance like a puppet on a string if you rely on applause from others to provide your validation.
Perhaps my most important message from navigating in advance the future you will face… learn to be less controlling and quash the ego to manageable size. Some unexpected pleasure awaits when you no longer rush to judgement about people or events. Let me add to that; believe you are worthy of being loved.
So here I am (apologizing for combining metaphors), a well-cared for 1932 Ford Sedan on the road to the unknown and the Point Man for the inevitable, first to face what awaits as we advance to frailty.
I’ll keep writing about my experiences. I won’t leave out the days when I’m fearful of change, with paranoid fantasies about danger ahead. But I’m optimistic my posts will describe how the adventures ahead enliven me, inspire me and give me the insight to model what a purposeful, meaningful elderhood can be.
In the course of a long business career I held many titles familiar to the corporate world. But as I quickly learned the lofty nameplates no longer apply when your career comes to a close and you move from the corner office to a corner of the den. The challenge was to stay vital and active rather than idling on the sidelines. I had to create a new foundation upon which to build life’s purpose and joy.
I stopped adding up my stock portfolio as a measure of my net worth and developed a healthy self esteem independent of applause from others.

Tootsie is a fun, sweet and lovable seven-year-old, 56-pound, tan and white female terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian.
Tootsie rolls over for belly rubs and has a delightful personality. Her tail is always happily wagging.
Tootsie knows the command “sit” and takes treats gently from your fingers.
She is currently being kenneled in Union, Illinois, where she is great with all the other dogs, but not cats!
Tootsie is also wonderful with people of all ages. She is very sweet, snugly and loving. She prefers cuddling to playing ball and doesn’t seem to have an interest in playing fetch.
Tootsie was found stray in Schaumburg, Illinois, and her teeth are all ground down. Perhaps she was chewing on a chain or rocks? So she recently had all the nubs removed so she only has a couple of teeth left.
I first photographed Tootsie in June of 2017 and she has been kenneled ever since.
She is crate-trained and appears to be housebroken. Isn’t it time she found the home of her dreams?
To meet and possibly adopt Tootsie, please contact Melia at [email protected] for an adoption application.
Her adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued dogs of Lucky Dog Rescue. She is healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped and heartworm-tested negative.
