With the NBA trade deadline still a month and a half away, the Chicago Bulls could begin thinking of trading Coby White.

Over his first year and a half, White has had some shining moments as a Bull. By no means is he a bad player whom the Bulls should look to ship out of town already. On the contrary, White very well could fit into this roster for years to come.

The problem with White hasn’t been anything to do with him being less skilled or having a “bad” season. It’s more so with his fit as the team’s starting point guard.

Being the starting point guard next to a guy like Zach LaVine, White’s primary job should be to facilitate, and he’s struggled consistently running the offense at times.

Funny enough, White is averaging a healthy amount of assists (5.3). But, he is still a scorer at heart.

That’s fine, however he may end up being better suited for a bench role. If White was relegated to the sixth man role, he would flourish. He might even win the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award — or at least find himself in the running.

His aggressive and sometimes reckless mentality is far better suited for a role coming off the bench. But, as a former lottery pick, how willing would he be to accept such a role if the Bulls brought in, say, Lonzo Ball?

Those are some of the rumors floating around; that the Bulls go get Ball from the New Orleans Pelicans.

If the Bulls don’t see him as their starting point guard for years to come, it would at least be worth exploring some trades. At this stage, they could get some serious value for a player like White. One of these trades would be pretty intriguing on Chicago’s end.

When people think of the Chicago Bears 2021 offseason, they think of a quarterback.

Mitchell Trubisky is a free agent that is not coming back and Nick Foles isn’t good enough. There have been rumors involving other quarterbacks from other organizations coming to the Bears like Carson Wentz and Matthew Stafford.

Well, to be honest, the quarterback that is going to be their long term guy is most likely not out there right now. However, they can take a step in building an offensive line this offseason.

The Chicago Bears should take a look at Orlando Brown of the Baltimore Ravens.

Orlando Brown of the Baltimore Ravens sounds like he is available. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network has reported that he wants to be traded. The reason that he wants to be traded is that he believes that he is a left tackle. The Baltimore Ravens can’t provide him that request because of the fact that they have Ronnie Stanley.

Stanley missed a good portion of the season because of an injury. Brown played in that left tackle spot and was brilliant but he would be moved away from that spot when Stanley is healthy. The Ravens have a lot invested in him so Brown feels like the odd man out.

The left tackle is one of the most important positions on a football field and the Bears need one really badly. There are a few holes on the offense for Chicago but filling in that left tackle would go a long way. He has been a two-time Pro Bowler, so you know he would benefit this team greatly.

If the Bears acquired a player like this and got him signed long term, they would be set there for a while. One thing to keep in mind is that 2021 is the last year of his contract before free agency so the trade might not be that much. These are three trades that might get it done:

St. Rita’s new era began tonight. The Mustangs started three freshman, a sophomore and a senior.

No one will be surprised that the senior, Christian Henry, led the way with 23 points. Freshman Jaedin Reyna scored 10 and sophomore Kaiden Space added eight points. James Brown and Morez Johnson, the other two freshmen, flashed the potential that has earned them lofty rankings in their class.

Providence led most of the way. Things were tied early in the fourth quarter and the young Mustangs pulled it out in the end, which is very impressive for such a young team. I’m not sure the last time I saw three players making a high school basketball debut in the same starting lineup.

Sophomore Hampton Dauparas was a load in the post for the Celtics, finishing with 20 points.

I also kept an eye on the Joliet West-Romeoville game and saw the end of Lake Forest at Stevenson. It’s nice to get a bit of a look at a lot of different teams considering how short the season is.

Wednesday’s top games

No. 5 Mundelein 78, Vernon Hills 55: Conor Enright did a bit of everything with 20 points, six assists and six rebounds and Trey Baker scored 23.

Wheaton-Warrenville South 49, No. 25 Waubonsie Valley 43 OT: Tigers senior Jaylen Brown forced over time with a three-pointer and finished with 13 points.

Indian Creek 70, Hiawatha 31: The Timberwolves advance to the semifinals of the Little Ten Tournament. Cam Russell scored 21 and Drew Gaston added 14.

Maine South 82, Streamwood 58: The Hawks are 4-0. Marko Anderson led the way with 14 points, 16 rebounds and six assists and Sean Gallery scored 31.

Wheaton North 63, Sandburg 53: Connor Haake scored 25.

Riverside Brookfield 43, Glenbrook North 39: Junior JP Hanley had 11 and junior Joevonn McCottry added 10 to help the Bulldogs open the season with a win.

No. 9 Fenwick 75, Providence-St. Mel 35: Bryce Hopkins poured in 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Denium Juette had 13 points and five assists and Gabe Madej added 14.

No. 21 Lake Forest 48, Stevenson 42: Balanced scoring for the Scouts. Jack Malloy scored 12, Asa Thomas 11 and Cade Nowik 10. Evan Ambrose led Stevenson with 17.

Joliet West 41, Romeoville 37: Ashawn Burbridge made the key free throws and junior Skylar Crudup sealed the win with a dunk.
