Lucky — Petraits Rescue

Lucky is a smart, sweet, gentle and loving 10-year-old, 35-pound Keeshond//Pomeranian-mix looking for a loving guardian.
Lucky absolutely loves his walks and car rides … he just lights up when you pull out his leash. In the home, he likes to be with you and stay by your side. He never goes on furniture or in your bed. Instead, he’ll sleep in his own dog bed right on the floor.
Friends of Petraits Rescue took Lucky in when his human passed away of cancer in mid-February and he’s been in foster care ever since. But, now it’s time for him to find a permanent loving family for his golden years.
He is Incredibly adaptable to new situations; he’s such an easy companion. He just loves people and is very easy to handle on walks.
He is protective of his food and bowl with other dogs and cats, so I think he can easily life with cats if you pick up his bowl after he finishes his meal. He’s great with other dogs on walks, and in the yard, he likes to have the house to himself as the only canine.
Lucky has very thick hair that needs to be professionally groomed at least a couple times a year, and he barely sheds.
He is perfectly housebroken, no crate needed, and non-destructive in the home.
He’s typically quiet, but he will bark for food, or attention when someone new visits the home.
Lucky is a happy and healthy senior. He is neutered, up-to-date on rabies, distemper, leptospirosis, bordetella and the H3N2 canine flu vaccines. He is fecal and heartworm–tested, dewormed and on monthly heartworm protection.
Lucky has a slight heart murmur and had x-rays done to make sure his heart was not enlarged. He also had full bloodwork and urinalysis.
Lucky is currently being lovingly fostered in Park Ridge, Illinois. His adoption fee of $250 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue.
