Happy New Year
Each year when I hear this term, I have great expectations for the new year. In the past, I hoped the new year would become the year that I received everything I wanted. Life does not work that way. There is a quote that says, “Happiness is not having what you want. It is appreciating what you have.” I have learned to appreciate what I have and not focus on what I do not have.
As you enter the new year, it is okay to have things you want. It is great to have goals. However, take time to appreciate and be grateful for what you have. The right attitude will help you enjoy life and be happy.

I have been interested in preventive medicine since my childhood. In the 70s, my aunt would take me with her to meet with a doctor who emphasized preventive medicine. A lot of the things that doctor discussed then has become standard today.
