Goose Island Releases Prop Day Details
We have details released by Goose Island Beer Co. on their first-ever, multi-day drive-thru Proprietor’s Day(s).
“With everyone’s safety in mind,” a Goose island news release notes, “we are shifting to curbside pick-up only at the United Center, thanks to our friends and neighbors, the Chicago Blackhawks.”
Prop Day is an event that gives fans a chance to get the first taste of upcoming Bourbon County Stout variants, and to take home Proprietor’s Bourbon County Stout.
Again, you’ll have the chance to buy a Prop through a lottery, opening at noon (CST) on Tuesday, Oct. 6 and closing Monday, Oct. 12 at 12am (CST). New this year, only one lottery submission will be allowed per person during the lottery window. Winners will be chosen, at random, and notified via email on Oct. 14th giving them the opportunity to purchase the pre-set allotment for $130 (GooseIsland.com/PropDays).
Bottle Pick-Up
Winners will select a pick-up date and time when claiming the winning ticket. Lottery winners will check in and pick up their allocation without leaving their vehicle. Pick up dates will be November 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, & 29.
The pick-up location is United Center, 1901 W. Madison St., Chicago.
Proprietor’s Bourbon County Stout 2020
“This year’s Proprietor’s Bourbon County Stout,” according to Goose Island, “was inspired by third-generation Italian American brewer Emily Kosmal’s love of spumoni, a classic Italian frozen treat. Blended with fresh pistachios, cacao nibs, candied Amarena cherries, and natural vanilla flavors, the 2020 Proprietor’s Bourbon County Stout is incredibly complex and layered with cocoa, nut, and dark fruit notes with hints of vanilla and oak. Emily, who also created the concept for 2016 Proprietor’s, is our first brewer to have two Proprietor’s concepts picked for release.”
The Allocation:
Lottery winners will get to pick up this allotment for their $130.
- 2 bottles of 2020 Proprietor’s Bourbon County Stout
- 1 bottle of 2020 Bourbon County Stout Special #4
- 1 bottle of 2020 Prop Days Exclusive BA Stout
- 1 Prop Days 2020 commemorative snifter
Meanwhile, details on the annual Black Wednesday and Black Friday releases for Bourbon County Stout are yet to be announced. It seems unlikely the event will be the same as in years before, with hundreds of people crowding in line in front o f their local beer store. Stay tuned.
