Looking for the Good
Dreams, goals, and wishes
Dreams, goals, and wishes…
I think that the pandemic has impacted my desire to live life to the fullest. I decided years ago that I would live a regret-free life, so the older I get, the more I strive to make my dreams come true. I posed this question on Facebook, “If you could accomplish one thing, what would it be?” a few days ago. Many people gave answers, but I was stuck. My first thought was that being a best selling author would be my answer. Then I realized though that it is not really something I can do or accomplish. I can write the books, but it is up to people to buy them. I would also love for my daughters to be fulfilled and happy, but that too is out of my control. Sure being healthy, having opportunities to travel, and continuing to learn and grow are on my list, but are those real accomplishments? Then I turned on The Map of Tiny Perfect Things, a modern day Groundhog day on Netflix. I won’t offer any details or spoilers except to say that my self-posed question missed the mark. I forgot the importance of the tiny, little things in life. I needed that reminder to be grateful for all the small things that I can and will accomplish. I need to stop striving for the big things, and be happy for each moment. How about you, can you be grateful for your little accomplishments and joys?

All through my day, no matter where I go, or what I do, I am always looking for the good in people, in the world, in my life or even just in my day.

Meet The Blogger
Susan Schulhof
While it is easy to focus on the negative aspects of life, I choose to continue looking for the good in people and in the world around me, and I want to share why they do what they do. I am the proud mother of three adult daughters and live in the Chicago area. I have worked in the Early Childhood Education field since 2001, and I write books when the inspiration comes.
