The Barbershop: Dennis Byrne, Proprietor
Donald Trump is the Trump administration’s worst spokesman

Just about every time President Donald Trump opens his mouth to try to elaborate on good steps that his coronavirus pandemic team has taken, he steps in it. Big. Deep. And Ugly.
On Wednesday his team tried to correct the media misrepresentation that Robert Redfield, the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, warned that a fall second-wave infection would be a “worse” epidemic or “even more devastating” that we’re now experiencing.
Redfield and Deborah Birx, Trump’s virus fighter, clarified it well, pointing out that Redfield said the fall second wave would be “different” but not necessarily worse. Redfield said he wasn’t misquoted, but the headlines went too far. Case closed.
But Trump had to step up, to elaborate in his own way, serving only to muddy the waters and give his media opponents yet another opportunity to call him out for being ignorant.
Turns out that Wednesday was only a practice run for Thursday when he raised the possibility that sunlight and injection disinfectants, including bleach, would effectively fight COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus. The way he asked the question of his experts was so goofy and uninformed that it was obvious to every observer that he didn’t know what the hell he was talking about.
He then compounded his crackup by having his experts address his question. View the video below as Birx put her on the spot.
Then he doubly compounded his crackup by the next day claiming he was only asking his experts sarcastically. No one, even the most rabid Trump supporter, can buy that lunacy.
You jerk. You idiot. Your experts are doing a fine job of rallying the nation into a mobilization unlike anything we’ve ever seen since World War II. Are you so in love with yourself that you think that the short, focused and clear explanations given by your experts need your interpretation and elaboration.
Having spent a few years in the public relations racket, I confidently can say you would be fired after one day as a spokesman, in the public or private sector.
Can’t you look beyond your ego-stuffed self that you are doing more damage to the people who support your agenda, especially those who support your efforts to reign in a judiciary that has gone out of control as a super legislature. Every time you open your mouth, you lose another possible supporter of your policies.
Just get over yourself. Before everyone else does.
