Arturas Karnisovas is the new sheriff in town for the Chicago Bulls, and he is wasting no time pulling the organization into the 21st century.
Times are changing in Chi-Town, and the new EVP of basketball operations for the Chicago Bulls is leading the charge.
Arturas Karnisovas hasn’t wasted any time since his hiring, tabbing a new general manager on Monday in former 76ers‘ executive Marc Eversley to go along with his other front office specialists, J.J. Polk and Pat Connelly, that were hired earlier in April.
With Karnisovas working so fast (and efficiently), it comes as no surprise that Bulls fans think head coach Jim Boylen should be the next head on the chopping block. However, there should be another area fans should be glaring at: the medical staff.
It’s all but set in stone that Boylen is a dead man walking to basketball fans in the Windy City but this time should be used to effectively evaluate the entirety of the organization.
After all, Karnisovas is only the third head of basketball operations in the Jerry Reinsdorf era, so if something is botched, it could stay that way for a long time.
Ever since the infamous string of Derrick Rose injuries, the list of players going down has been piling up while the public has been misled on several occasions concerning recovery timelines.
Names like Rose and Luol Deng are old probably old news, but the likes of Zach LaVine, Otto Porter Jr. and others have been spending significant time on the bench dressed in street clothes.
From starters to benchwarmers, the Bulls have had a ridiculous amount of players getting injured for long stretches of time.
Whether its LaVine with an ankle injury, Porter’s foot, Wendell Carter‘s thumb…it just keeps happening.
The forwards have gotten the worst of it over the past couple of seasons.
