The Chicago Blackhawks have had the slogan “One Goal” for a long time now but changes might be on the horizon as far as the slogan is concerned.

The Chicago Blackhawks were one of the most consistent teams in the National Hockey League for a long time. Things were good on and off the ice for a really long time and you can associate a lot of it with the “One Goal” slogan. That is something that John McDonough came up with over his tenure with the team. Well, they reached that one goal three times in six seasons. There was a lot of good for them but it may be time to move on.

The Hawks fired John McDonough during the pause that the season has been in because of the coronavirus. That slogan and John McDonough are probably going to live and die with each other along with some bad decisions. They reached the one goal multiple times but now moving on from it is a good idea.

NHL teams change their slogans all the time. It is very rare for a team to keep the same slogan for as long as the Hawks had “One Goal”. We don’t know what is going to happen as far as their new team president but you can bank on them letting go of that slogan and bringing in a brand new one. The new one is probably something that should be very fresh for this team.

There are still the stars like Duncan Keith, Jonathan Toews, and Patrick Kane there but the rest of the original clan is pretty much gone or potentially about to be gone. There are new kids coming in like Kirby Dach, Adam Boqvist, Ian Mitchell, and whoever they draft this upcoming year in the first round, hopefully. A youth movement could be on the horizon for Chicago while they see their legends tread along in the second half of their careers.

The “One Goal” slogan, however, will live forever in the hearts of many people. It doesn’t have to be the current slogan in order to maintain it’s meeting. That phrase will forever be associated with the team that won three cups in six years and basically brought the organization back to life. It is good to let the dynasty rest with that particular slogan.
