There was some excitement around the team’s offense. But a lot of that was gone by Sunday evening as the Bears and their anemic offense suffered a 19-11 loss to the Colts.

Fans who were banking on the offense exploding once quarterback Mitch Trubisky hit the bench got a dose of reality on Sunday. Now there are more questions than answers regarding the team that entered week four a surprising 3-0.

The Bears needed some fourth-quarter magic to come back and win two of those three games, and they barely hung on during a second-half comeback by the lowly New York Giants in week two. Many around the NFL weren’t sold on the Bears as contenders. They may have had a point.

A belief existed in Bears fans that coach Matt Nagy’s real problem wasn’t his offensive scheme or play calling, it was the fact that Trubisky wasn’t talented enough to run the offense. Foles didn’t add much clarity to that argument on Sunday.

It’s not just the offense that’s questionable, the highly touted Bears defense looked off as well on Sunday. One glaring weakness was spotted against the Colts, and this isn’t exactly a new issue.
