The path to the AL Central Division title just got a little bit tougher for the Chicago White Sox.

The Minnesota Twins continue to be a thorn in the White Sox side as they just signed Carlos Correa to a record contract.

The Twins signed arguably the best free agent. Minnesota is arming itself to make a move to win back the AL Central after a surprise last-place finish last year.

The Twins also traded for starting pitcher Sonny Gray and appear intent to add more.

Chicago White Sox fans are excused to feel some fear with the Twins wheeling and dealing. The Twins have haunted the White Sox ever since this century began. The Twins have been constantly winning the division over the Sox-a move like signing Correa will leave any southside fan a little nervous.

Although it might not be nerves Chicago White Sox fans are feeling. Instead, it may be frustration due to general manager Rich Hahn not making any big moves to bolster the roster during the White Sox contention window.

The White Sox have the fifth-highest payroll in baseball. When do we start to hold Rick Hahn accountable for the flaws in his roster? Reinsdorf has spent nearly $200 million on payroll this season and we still have two first baseman playing RF and Keuchel in the rotation.

The Chicago White Sox payroll will be in Major League Baseball’s top-5. That does not mean the White Sox have guaranteed themselves a spot in October.

The Twins adding Correa means the AL Central will not be a cakewalk like it was last season. The Detroit Tigers also improved their roster so the Sox cannot expect to just cruise to a second-straight AL Central Division crown.

The Chicago White Sox can still make these moves to counter the Twins.
