The Amused Curmudgeon
Why Veterans Want to Keep the Postal Service Alive
Recently a “Voice of the People” submission of mine was published on the Op Ed page. Here is the content.
The reasons to keep the U.S. Postal Service alive and well are widely–and wisely– documented. But one reason hasn’t been granted nearly enough voice. It has to do with Donald Trump’s indifference to American military veterans. What seems to be largely overlooked is the fact that thousands upon thousands of us receive our needed–and favorably priced–medications from Veterans Affairs monthly, via U.S. mail.
What’s more, in the decades the VA has been sending me my meds, the Postal Service has never once failed to deliver on time. And now especially is no time to deprive ex-servicemen and women of our health maintenance.
