Illinois Craft Beer Oktoberfest, Sept. 19 – Oct. 4

I’ve received a news release that is indeed of interest to my beer-loving leadership. So I’m presenting it with few emendation.
The Illinois Craft Brewers Guild announced on September 15 that it will launch its first-ever Oktoberfest promotion to encourage craft beer fans to explore new breweries and discover seasonal beers brewed with pride across Illinois. Timed with the original dates of the official Oktoberfest celebration in Germany, which was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Illinois Bier Oktoberfest invites consumers to enjoy Illinois-brewed seasonal beer while showcasing your unique Oktoberfest style for a chance to win!
Here’s how it works:
From September 19 through October 4, purchase an Oktoberfest-style (or seasonal) beer at any Illinois craft brewery or taproom (dine-in, carryout or delivery). Then, snap a picture of yourself with your Illinois bier and your most festive Oktoberfest garb or seasonal props, making sure to convey some Oktoberfest spirit in the photo. Finally, post your pic to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #IllinoisBier, making sure to tag the brewery and the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild.
At the culmination of Oktoberfest, a total of three (3) winners will be randomly selected to win a pair of branded Illinois Bier steins. To qualify, social media posts must include a seasonal craft beer brewed in Illinois, festive Oktoberfest gear or props, and must properly tag the brewery, the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild, and #IllinoisBier. Winners will be announced on October 5.
“Despite the challenges that our breweries have faced in 2020, we’re excited to be creating new promotions that drive traffic into our member breweries and incentivize residents to support their local small business owners,” said Danielle D’Alessandro, executive director for the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild. “As a Guild, we are working day in and day out to ensure our breweries have the resources and support to continue operating in accordance with all health and safety standards during this unprecedented time. But we also want to have a little fun. We think this promotion achieves that.” For more information, please visit www.illinoisbeer.org/oktoberfest.
