The most impressive part about this Carolina team? They’ve done it largely in part without All Pro running back Christian McCaffrey, who still won’t return from injury against the Bears.

That means Carolina will continue to ride with former Bears running back Mike Davis, who has done a remarkable job in place of the injured McCaffrey. Davis has totaled 220 yards on the ground and 206 yards receiving with three combined touchdowns in his limited starting role.

While many want to make this about the Bears letting go of Davis last year, that’s not the real story here. Chicago had no room for Davis on the roster last season, therefore they couldn’t have foreseen a Tarik Cohen injury in 2020 and a need for their former running back at the present time.

The storyline is an intriguing one, with Davis seeing such a resurgence after being mostly a backup for the past year. It’s a positive story for Davis, who was fantastic in a committee with Seattle prior to joining the Bears.

But, moving on from Davis, this game is going to be about the passing game on both sides. Teddy Bridgewater has found a bit of a groove and passed for over 300 yards twice already this season. Meanwhile, the Bears have turned to Nick Foles.
