I can’t help but smile when I enter Your Happy Place Liquors. I feel instant joy seeing works of art by local artists throughout, along with a splash of yellow walls. There are other goods from artists for sale, like sticker packs. The owners have an appreciation for the arts, and it shows. And, who can deny that all these pretty bottles of wine don’t make you happy?
They have a wine club!
Sit down and have a cold one
This liquor store has it all — wine, beer, spirits, cider, kombucha, and cigars. There’s comfortable seating, and everything is neatly arranged. You can buy a beverage to drink while you are browsing. During this visit, I chose a refreshing Hazed and Infused Hazy IPA from Boulder Beer.
Autumn vibes
Brain Killer in person
I had the pleasure of attending an artist reception for Brian Keller, Chicago’s very own Brain Killer. His colorful pop art brought extra life to the walls. It was great to meet Brian, but I’m disappointed I didn’t get photos of him (too focused on the art). He wears many hats including producer, director, and artist. Catch his imaginative work at Your Happy Place until November.
Looking good!We are for sale!
The Congress Theater is alive
Brian currently has a feature wall at the Congress Theater. The theater is still temporarily closed; however, it isn’t easy to forget thanks to Project Congress. The art changes regularly, so check his terrific piece out soon.
