Southern Illinois fell five spots in this week’s Stats Perform FCS Top 25 following a 44-3 home loss to South Dakota State.
The Salukis (4-2 overall, 3-2 Missouri Valley) hold down the No. 10 spot this week. SIU plays at Missouri State (3-4, 3-1) Saturday.
South Dakota State moved up two slots to No. 4. The Jackrabbits game against Illinois State has been canceled after the Redbirds announced Sunday night they are opting out of the remainder of the spring season.
Illinois State (1-3) is listed among others receiving votes with nine tallies. The Redbirds were scheduled to host the Salukis April 3 in Normal. That game is now off and has been ruled “no contest” by Missouri Valley officials.
Murray State (4-0) is No. 19. The Ohio Valley Conference-leading Racers host Eastern Illinois Saturday.
