River is a playful, sweet and loving, one-year-old, 53-pound, male pit bull terrier with cropped ears looking for a loving guardian.
River is an all-around great dog who is very gentle taking treats from your hand and knows the command sit.
He loves going on walks around the neighborhood and greeting other dog-friendly dogs. He LOVES other dogs and loves to play. He does have a high prey drive, so I watch him around birds, cats and rabbits.
This sweet boy was found with bite wounds on his face, tied to a bench in a Chicago park bench with just a bag of potato chips to call his own.
He’s since been bathed, given TLC and fully vetted. He is phenomenal walking easily with his gentle leader head harness. He wags his tail and gives kisses to everyone he meets. Because he still needs training, he is not recommended for homes with young children.
He is crate-trained and housebroken, but like all young dogs, he will chew if left unattended.
To meet and possibly adopt River, please contact friendsofpetraits@gmail.com for an adoption application.
His adoption fee of $200 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue. He is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on rabies, distemper, bordetella, and leptospirosis vaccines, micro-chipped, fecal and heartworm-tested, and on monthly preventative.
He is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
