The incident happened about 9:55 p.m. in the 3800 block of West Polk Street, Chicago police said.

A suspect was shot by police after allegedly firing shots at officers Monday in Lawndale on the West Side.

The incident happened about 9:55 p.m. in the 3800 block of West Polk Street, Chicago police said.

The suspect was shot and taken to a hospital in an unknown condition, police spokesman Tom Ahern said. No officers were injured.

Three guns were recovered at the scene, Ahern said.
