If you’ve been to this space before, you know that some of my posts can be a tad disparaging of Donald Trump.
Someone on Facebook recently posted, I hate Donald Trump with the heat of a thousand suns.
That’s pretty extreme, but I found the imagery interesting. I’m not sure how that translates into human emotion, but it’s powerful.
I’m don’t hate Trump, I just find him a despicable human being in desperate need of a beating. He’s not just the worst president since Herbert Hoover, he’s like the evil spawn of Adolph Hitler and Charles Manson.
My writing generally includes actual quotes straight out of Trump’s. They are quotes that have been recorded for posterity and can be proven without fear of contradiction.
They tend to be lies, inaccuracies, exaggerations, boasts, insults and a horrible mangling of the powers granted to the president by the Constitution.
Last week I posted a timeline of things Trump lied about while he was stalling and killing Americans. You can read that HERE
The next day I tied those lies to the causal relationship between a wretched, narcissistic, miscreant of a human being and thousands of American deaths. That you can read HERE
My posts contain a good deal of anti-Trump rhetoric and, not surprisingly, I get a lot of anti-anti-Trump feedback. And a few death threats, just for laughs.
I refer to the nasty feedback I get as anti-anti-Trump. Some might call it pro-Trump feedback, but there’s not a lot of enthusiasm in the pro part.
For whatever reason, Trumpsters don’t defend him as much as they attack me. That may just be what they learned from worshiping at the feet of a demagogue.
According to my attackers I am really stupid, unbelievably so stupid and my favorite, intellectually dishonest.
In one of my posts I referred to Little Donnie as a lowlife, scumbag piece of crap. Astonishingly, no one said that he wasn’t.
Some said that he was doing a great job, but without specifics. The most rigorous defense was something we’ve all read on the ubiquitous red hat, that Trump was making America great again.
That person, from Johnsburg, Illinois neglected to say exactly how Mr. Trump was doing that, it’s apparently only important to say it.
For Trump, it’s about whipping his Fox-watching rally goers into a frenzy with fear and anger inducements, devoid of truth or basic American principles.
In Trump world, it’s OK for the president to conspire with our enemies and bribe foreign leaders, but it’s a mortal sin for a black man to kneel during a song that means more to them than the values of the flag it celebrates.
It’s a bit of a paradox that even the most ardent of the Trumpsters can’t seem to find the words to defend him. It’s all about deflection, projection and attack.
Upon closer scrutiny though, there’s a subtle current beneath the flow of Trumpism that has nothing to do with the man himself.
If Trumpsters see him as their savior, from what exactly, is he saving them?
The answer is that they hate Democrats, Liberals, Progressives, etc so much that anyone who is willing to lead a battle against that enemy is der Fuehrer.
This melds perfectly with the Trump style of attack politics. Sleepy Joe, Little Marco, Crooked Hillary, fake news and all the other pejoratives Trump concocts to diminish and demean his enemies.
All of this didn’t happen overnight. It has been a cultivation of the captivated over a period of years and years and we will explore that briefly later this week.
In the mean time, since no one refuted my assertion that Don The Con is a lowlife, scumbag piece of crap, we’re just going to have to conclude that they know it, too.
