A man was shot and wounded early Wednesday morning on the Northwest Side.
The victim, 39, was shot multiple times in the upper body following a verbal altercation with another man around 1:05 a.m. in the 5400 block of West Lake Street, Chicago police said.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and was listed in critical condition, according to police.
The suspect fled in a black SUV and was not in custody, police said. Area Four detectives are investigating.
Three days earlier, five men were gathered in the backyard of a home about 12:30 a.m. in the 4800 block of West Race Avenue when a male suspect entered and opened fire, police said.
The men, 23, 30, 36, 48 and 50, suffered gunshot wounds to the lower body, police said. They were transported to Stroger and Mt. Sinai hospitals, where they were stabilized.
