A man was shot to death Tuesday morning when he went outside to check on a car alarm in Roseland on the Far South Side, according to Chicago police.
Richard Cade, 24, stepped outside about 1:15 a.m. and was shot in his back on a sidewalk in the 10500 block of South Maryland Avenue, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and pronounced dead, police said.
Area Two detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
