Meanwhile, Dalton went 11/17 with 146 yards and one touchdown. He also threw one interception and didn’t look particularly good on any drive for long stretches. Justi Fields came in and looked much more effective. He didn’t throw a touchdown but he went 9/19 with 80 yards. He showed the ability to scramble and make plays. He made four rushing attempts for 46 yards which led the team as well.

The game ultimately means nothing but it is fair to be frustrated with the organization. Mitch may or may not be a good backup in the NFL but he looked like everything he was advertised to be playing for the Bills. It is not going to be a good look if he continues to look competent when he is called on.

The Chicago Bears continue to look like a team that can’t do anything right.

It is also annoying that Bears’ head coach Matt Nagy confirmed that Andy Dalton is still the starting quarterback for week one. It is hard to see how anyone could watch that game (or the first one) and decide that Fields doesn’t deserve to be the starter. Nagy seems to be pretty set in his ways whether he is right or wrong. Hopefully, whatever decision he makes ends up helping the Bears win but it doesn’t feel like that will be the case.

There is one more preseason game to get ready for the regular season next week. They will face the Tennessee Titans next Saturday night. It is going to be a big game because there will be some final decisions made during that tie. Hopefully, the team looks more interested in the game by that point because this game was pretty ugly by the end.
