Mitch is not a good quarterback. There is a reason nobody signed him to be their new starter. He had to settle for being Josh Allen’s backup with the Buffalo Bills. His skills seem to fit being in that role which is nice for Buffalo but he isn’t anything above average. However, it isn’t like the Bears did much to help him either.

Trubisky was a part of a Bears organization that is mostly a joke when it comes to doing things the right way on the offensive side of the football. They haven’t drafted and developed a quarterback in decades. Jay Cutler is arguably the best quarterback in the history of the franchise. They didn’t handle his first season the right way with Mike Glennon in 2017. They turned to Nick Foles who was significantly worse in 2020.

The Chicago Bears facing Mitchell Trubisky brings out a lot of different emotions.

No, Trubisky wasn’t good enough and he was critiqued hard for it. However, it wasn’t all his fault. There is no reason to be harsh on him when he plays against the Bears in a Bills uniform this weekend. If he turns out to be a good NFL backup, all power to him.

All we can do is hope that the Bears’ disgraceful history doesn’t continue with Justin Fields. He was elite in college but a lot of guys are elite in college. We are all excited about this kid but it is hard to be fully in on the Bears’ decision-making based on the recent past.

There is already a cause for concern based on the Andy Dalton drama. Are they going to throw Justin to the wolves if Andy Dalton starts 0-4? They might as well save him at that point. It is a shame that this is how we have to worry but it is something that the Bears created. Hopefully, he doesn’t end up like Trubisky.
