Some snippets from President Joe Biden’s press conference about what he’s done to make life in Afghanistan so ducky:
“Any American who wants to come home, we will get you home.”The Taliban are not stopping Americans at checkpoints from getting to the airport for evacuation.Al-Qaeda is gone from Afghanistan. The Taliban and Al-Qaeda are enemies.“I have seen no question of our credibility from our allies.”America’s NATO allies agreed to the rapid withdrawal. No one thought that the Afghan army would disintegrate so quickly.Terrorism won’t find a “safe haven” in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan because America has “over the horizon’ capabilities” to dig them
Every one, every single one, of those assertions are false.
Biden contradicted himself, saying that he couldn’t guarantee that every American would get home. On-the-ground reports affirm that the Taliban checkpoints are roadblocks to people desperate to leave. Biden’s own administration warned that Al-Qaeda is present in Afghanistan.
In a rare criticism of an American president, some NATO allies are appalled at Biden abandoning Afghanistan without consulting with them. American diplomats warned senior officials that a collapse was virtually imminent.
Those “over-the-horizon capabilities” are a joke, considering the distance that American forces would have to travel to reach the landlocked country.
Hell, even the reliably left FactCheck.org itemized a list of false assertions.
No malarky? It was a symphony of distortions and smoke as well as mis-, man-, and disinformation. What planet is he on? What alternate universe does he inhabit?
No sane person can actually believe any of it, especially someone who is supposed to be as well-informed as the commander-in-chief. It is an historic, yet failed, attempt to deceive Americans. Despite FoxNews commentator Juan Williams’ prediction that we’ll soon forget about this betrayal, it will be a day that will live in infamy.
Hell, even the legendary incompetent Vice President Kamala Harris is looking better than Biden.
