The Chicago Bears head west for their second preseason game when they take on the Seattle Seahawks.

The Bears are coming off of a 19-14 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs last Saturday. The starters played about three series before giving way to the backups who ended up winning the game.

Do not expect to see the starters on the field for very long against the Seahawks. Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus only plans on playing the first string about six to 10 snaps.

With the limited reps the starters will get, there are still a few things to keep a look out for on Thursday night.

Can the first-string offense produce points (and stay healthy)?

The first-team offense opened last Saturday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a three-and-out drive. No points were scored in the three series that all the starters played in.

Hopefully, a six to 10 snap count in this game accomplishes a nice productive first drive by the offense resulting in some points.

Quarterback Justin Fields showed he is putting in the work to get better from his rookie season. With a limited snap count, all that can be expected from Fields is trying to lead the offense down the field, avoid turning the ball over, and not taking a big hit.

The Chicago Bears offense needs to avoid major injuries in those limited reps. They cannot afford to lose Fields or wide receiver Darnell Mooney. If either one is lost, what is already being predicted as a bad season, will get even worse.

Rookie Braxton Jones will start again at left tackle. He showed against the Chiefs why the coaching staff views him as a starter. Even with limited snaps, he gets another chance to show the Bears’ faithful why he is capable of protecting Field’s blindside.
