Presidential debate cancels blind dates

At least that’s what should happen, according to “Relationship coach and professional New York City and Long Island Matchmaker extraordinaire” Maureen Tara Nelson.
In a press release arriving this morning, Nelson said
The night of the first 2020 Presidential Debate would be worse for a new relationship than when Mercury is in retrograde. Emotions will be running high, political philosophies will clash and it’s no environment for a first date. I highly recommend just postponing any big dating plans one might have.
In these heated political times, people looking for love are ruling out potential partners because of their political affiliation.
She said Tuesday should be “Blackout Date Night.” She wrote a New York Times article, “Can Love Survive This Election?”
So, it has come to this? Can’t we all just get along?
